Family of 5

Nic fits in perfectly with our family now. He and Isaac are good friends, and Isaac watches out for him like a big brother does. Aiden is especially helpful when Nic runs in the opposite direction and needs to be brought back. Dominic gets into EVERYTHING like I've never seen a toddler get into. Toilet paper, cupboards, drawers, puzzles, games, clay, anything he can explore and tear apart. And if he doesn't get his way, he lets out an ear splitting shriek! He's thick headed and has been hard to train at the shop, but he's coming along. He loves to wipe the cars down with towels, as all the boys have done at that age. He can be a handful, and he really tries my patience. But, he can also be the funniest, most giggly baby you've ever seen. He consumes life and experiences everything to the fullest. Our family of 5 is complete.

Dominic

While I was pregnant, I always told Shane that this baby would be the death of us!! He moved and kicked and stretched far more than the other two boys did, and I knew it would be the same when he was born. It held true. He was a horrible sleeper and has spent more nights in my bed than his own. He consumes life; he's either wildly happy or super pissed off. He loves being tossed in the air, swung, wrestled with, and thrown on the couch. He THRIVES on it. Aiden, of course, loved him right away but had really wanted a sister and told me we had to have another baby to give him one;). Isaac seemed neutral about having a little brother. He didn't seem to mind him being around, but didn't interact with him unless we initiated it. Dominic brought his own unique energy into the house.

Dominic is born

Dominic, aka "Baby Nic" or just "Nic", was born November 5th, 2009. He was 4 days over due and weighed a hair under 7lbs. His pregnancy was easier than Isaac's had been, but harder than Aiden's. His labor was frustrating, but went quickly at the end. Isaac was just 19 months old when he became a big brother, and it was hard for me to wrap my head around having another baby so soon. I was beyond worried about how my sweet Isaac would adjust to Mommy tending to another baby. To my relief, Isaac did just fine. My one night stay in the hospital was the hardest part for him. Once we were home, we all settled in to getting used to being a family with one more little boy:).

Family of 4

Isaac's beautiful brown eyes and cherubic face has always been a weakness for me:). All the boys have loved Shane's guitar playing. He's a great dad. He loves his boys so much and loves involving them in everything he does.

Isaac

Isaac is my cuddly, gentle child. At the shop, he spent the first 3 months of his life wrapped up to my body. My favorite thing to do with him has always been cuddling and loving. He is very sensitive, too. As a baby, loud noises such as revving an engine or even my deep-voiced brother talking would make him pucker his bottom lip and cry. If you tell him 'no' or 'don't' it has the same effect. When he's happy, however, he can have everyone around him glowing with joy and laughter. He loves Aiden, and like any little brother does, wants to be doing whatever Aiden's doing. They play really well together and rarely fight.

Isaac is born

Our gentle Isaac was born on April 9th, 2008 when Aiden was 4 years old. He was 7lbs and 1oz, and just 1 day over due. I went into labor on my own with him, and got to do the 'dash to the hospital' at 3am. His pregnancy, labor, and delivery were all difficult (no medication again), but I was completely in love with him from the very beginning. Aiden had been SOOO excited to have a baby brother, and he was, and continues to be, an incredible help to me. He is a wonderful big brother who is patient, and he delights in his brothers as much as his parents!

Family of 3

Aiden has a fun personality, and he is very smart. He had us laughing all the time with different things he would say. He loved to help his dad fix stuff and had a knack for motorized vehicles and bicycles. He learned to ride a 2-wheel bike when he was just 3 years old (at our shop, of course)! He began reading when he was four. He was a cautious child. It took him a long time to warm up to people each time he was around someone; whether he knew them well or not.

Aiden at the shop

Aiden started coming to work with me almost imediately. Our lobby became a nursery, I nursed him while washing and waxing cars, and our customers would come get their cars done just to see how much he'd grown since last time. We became a family business!
